Abstract:
This presentation is intended to provide an introduction to the issue of landmine contamination, crisis, legacy, and action. We conduct an analysis of mine action national and international programs. Before proposing the use of new technologies, it is important to review the background of the mine action sector since its first inception. These notes set out an introduction to the problems of landmines, and explain how mine action programs are organised. A brief summary of the campaign to ban antipersonnel mines is also included.
